Life story
February 15, 2006
Passed away on February 15, 2006.
June 6, 2006
Willie Lee "Smiling' Willie" Robinson, 65, an entrepreneur, the owner of two businesses, Club 400 in Wacissa, FL., and Robinson's Pecan House on U.S. Highway 27 South in Lamont, FL.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Bernice Roberts Robinson.

A native of Wacissa, he was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. Mr. Robinson, who was affectionately known by many as "Smiling' Willie", was a longtime member of Beth Page Missionary Baptist Church.

Brother Willie Robinson had 2 children, his son, Michael Robinson (and Stephanie) of Tallahassee; and his daughter, Denise "Buffy" Smith (and Larry) of Jacksonville.

His Angels were his four granddaughters, Michaela, Mia, Launna and Laila.

Smiling Willie lived his life as a respected member of society, not only in his local community but also even in other countries around the world. He greeted everyone with his warm smile and left those that met him wanting to meet him again. Being the person that he was made him the ideal person to own the type of businesses in which contact with the public is essential. People that stopped at his roadside store would often write him to have things shipped to them; he had a mailing list that ranged from as close as the next city to as far away as Baghdad. His nightclub stood the test of time, there are larger clubs, fancier clubs, and clubs that simply should overshadow a small little “Juke Joint” club located in Wacissa,FL ., named Club 400, but you wont find many nightclubs anywhere in the nation that can boast a lifespan of over 35 years with one owner.

Smiling Willie was a man that could do anything he wanted to, regardless his physical limitations…

Two of the best things ever said about him were.
  1. He lost a leg in the early years of his life, but he was NEVER handicap.
  2. He did more in life with one leg and no college education than a lot of men have done with two legs and two degrees.
